Bangkok Honeymoon | Unparalleled Experience of Many Buddhist Temples
Following Chiang Rai, we spent four unforgettable nights of our Bangkok honeymoon at the Peninsula Bangkok. Its riverside location with panoramic views offered luxurious comfort, sophisticated facilities, and unparalleled experience of the famous Chao Phraya River and the Bangkok skyline.
Bangkok offers amazing attractions such as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, the Grand Palace, many Buddhist temples, delicious food, and floating markets.
Things to Do in Bangkok
Explore the Chao Phraya River
Crisscrossing Bangkok, Chao Phraya River (the River of the Kings) has a complex network of klongs (canals). The city’s water network once gave the Thai capital the nickname “The Venice of the East”. The majestic river is lined with stilted houses and floating bank barges which provide a glimpse of the life of the local residents.
Visit Wat Arun
Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) is a beautiful temple on the south bank of the Chao Phraya River, embedded with pieces of multi-colored porcelain. The colorfully decorated spires strikingly reflect the rays of the morning sun. Wat Arun stands majestically over the water and is one of the most stunning Buddhist temples in Bangkok.
Explore the Royal Barge Museum
At the Royal Barge Museum you can admire several impressive royal barges. These barges were originally vessels of war, but now they are used by the royal family for festivals and important rites of passage such as royal marriages, coronations, and funerals.
The last destination of our honeymoon were the beautiful islands of the Maldives.
What an amazing city! I love the photos of the buildings and the boats. I’ve never thought of traveling to Bangkok but now will have to consider!
Is it easy to get around there & what about the language barrier?
My father lived in Bangkok for 10 years!
My brother had his honeymoon in phuket. Unfortunately he was there during the tsunami, so he and his wife spent the time searching and treating survivors.
I’ve never wanted to visit another country but this place looks amazing.
