About Emilia Taneva and Bubbly Moments

Dr. Emilia Taneva is a Board-Certified Orthodontist, creative photographer, travel blogger, and digital influencer. With an audience of over 1,250,000, she is ranked as one of the top influencers in North America, with a focus on smiles, travel, fashion, and lifestyle. Born in the medieval city of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria, Emilia is now a full-time resident of Chicago, IL, where she lives with her husband, her son, and their beagle pup, Max.

Dr. Tanevaโ€™s expertise is always in demand: sheโ€™s been featured in Fox News, Forbes, Refinery29, Yahoo! Her journey to become an orthodontist also started her passion for travel. Emilia moved from Veliko Tarnovo to Sofia to study dentistry. During her time there, she served as President of the European Dental Students’ Association. She also found time to travel, attending and presenting at dental conferences in Egypt, Singapore, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Britain, Ireland, France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Poland, and Romania. It was during this busy time that the idea for her travel blog was born.ย

While her dentistry training (and travel bug) began in Sofia, Dr. Taneva ultimately completed her residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Afterward, Dr. Taneva began practicing at five different offices throughout Chicago, helping people gain confident, beautiful smiles. She also mentored orthodontic residents at UIC as an assistant professor in their College of Dentistry. Dr. Taneva was honored by the American Dental Association as the first recipient of theย Robert H. Ahlstrom Investigator Award for Dental Informatics Research.ย 

Dr. Taneva is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She is among a small percentage of orthodontists in the US to earn this distinction of recognized excellence in her specialty. As an orthodontist and educator, she is experienced in early diagnosis and treatment planning; adult treatment; interdisciplinary dentistry; Invisalign; Incognitoโ„ข Hidden Braces; temporary anchorage devices (TADs); craniofacial anomalies; orthognathic surgery cases; 3D imaging; and 3D printing.

Then thereโ€™s Emilia’s travel blog, Bubbly Moments, which focuses on the worldโ€™s most luxurious destinations and exclusive places. She has traveled to over 40+ countries on five continents and knocked some big adventures off her bucket list along the way.ย 

Now, Dr. Taneva spends her weeks helping patients achieve beautiful smiles and improve self-esteem through the art and science of Orthodontics. And on weekends, she hangs up those work clothes and heads off to the airport, ready for that next adventure.ย ย
